We recently had the pleasure of travelling to El Gouna in Egypt to visit our long-standing client GB Auto to deliver a 3-day leadership programme to their top 40 executives who oversee 27,000 colleagues across the middle east.
Our relationship with GB Auto started in 2019, when we embarked on a serious of employee engagement and leadership initiatives. This recent trip was module three of the executive coaching programme where we worked with the C suite and their direct reports on leadership behaviours that support them to improve workplace relationships.
Following some tough times in Egypt, post pandemic and amidst an economic downturn across the region, it was important that the leaders had time to take time out, to reconnect and to continue to build cross functional relationships. The sessions needed to reflect the current landscape and be sensitive to the organisational culture and the impact this is having on the working and family lives of the executives. We were specifically asked by the client to ‘make it fun and interactive ’… which we did!
The 3-day workshops looked at the desirable behaviours and resilience to lead during times of uncertainty. During these three-part interactive sessions uncovered, discussed and identified solutions to the three crucial elements when dealing with difficult times; People, Adaptability and Resilience. We ensured that the sessions and activities allowed for creative conversations, innovation of ideas and time to listen and connect with their colleagues. Commitments were set and the leaders now have robust action plans to take back to the workplace to apply the learning.
We will continue to work with the leaders over the next 6 months, supporting them with one-to-one coaching and using our Vibe 360 survey and reporting to measure the behavioural and cultural change as a result of the workshops.
